Derrick Catlett

Derrick is our Coordinator for the Northwest Independent School District and assists in the consulting and programming operations of Performance Course. Derrick was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado where he was a three sport high school athlete before heading to Iowa State to continue his football career. During his time at Iowa State, Derrick was a three year letter winner at tight end and long snapper for Iowa State and was honored as a two-time All Big 12 Academic recipient while earning his bachelors of science degree in Kinesiology and Health.

After finishing his football career, Derrick started his coaching career at Colorado State University implementing strength and conditioning workouts for all 14 varsity men's and women's sports. From there, he continued his coaching career at Iowa State. While becoming Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa), he trained under the guidance of current University of Texas Strength Coach, Yancy McKnight. As an Assistant Strength Coach, he worked with the football team in all aspects of speed, agility, strength, conditioning, mobility and nutrition.

Derrick has been with Performance Course for five summers. He came to Performance Course because he wants to help young athletes achieve their goals and become the absolute best person and athlete possible in the process.

Along with his SCCC, Derrick is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and by USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Club Coach (USAW).
