Mac Acuña

Mac serves as the coordinator for all programs in the Austin area. He is in his second stint with Performance Course following a decade of outside experience in high school and college strength and conditioning programs.

Mac began his career as a football strength and conditioning assistant at Texas A&M University-Commerce, before first joining the staff of Performance Course. He left to become the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Northwest High School before going to the University of Texas to work under Yancy McKnight in the Longhorn Football Strength and Conditioning program.

After graduating from Garland High School, Mac played football at Texas A&M University-Commerce and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Sports Studies.

Mac holds a master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Level One Sports Coach through the USA Weightlifting Association (USAW-1), and a Level One Coach through Precision Nutrition (Pn-1).

Mac resides in Austin with his wife, Erica, and their three children Chico (12), Mo (10) and Monsi (8).
