Prior to joining the Performance Course staff, Courtney spent 12 years as a Texas High School coach. During this time, he had stops at Arlington Sam Houston, Flower Mound Marcus, Red Oak, and DeSoto. In 2016 Courtney played a vital role in helping guide the Desoto football team to an undefeated season and the 2016 6A State Championship. He has held various titles including Secondary coach, Recruiting Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, and Assistant Head Coach. In addition to coaching high school in Texas, Courtney spent one season as a member of the Eastern Michigan University Football Coaching Staff.
Throughout his coaching career, Courtney has had the opportunity to coach four All-Americans and help over 100 student-athletes obtain college scholarships.
Courtney and his wife Maranda reside in Midlothian with their daughter Madison (6), who enjoys cheer and dance, and son Carter (3), who is a budding soccer player. They enjoy traveling and spending quality family time together.
